Today, I stop by Laguna Canyon Winery to talk to co-founder Marlowe Huber.
This winery is truly a hidden treasure, and I want to spread the word.
For today’s Stavros Snapshot, I’m standing in front of one of Laguna Beach’s most hidden treasures: Laguna Canyon Winery.
Established in 2003, this urban boutique winery provides its members with some of the most soulful and expressive artisan wines produced in California. I myself have been a member here for two years.
This winery has so much to offer wine lovers that I wanted to help get the word out and meet with co-owner and founder, Marlowe Huber.
Marlowe and his brother actually started out in Saskatchewan on a ranch, so he’s always had a connection to the land. He and his brother moved to British Columbia and learned how to make wine under an Italian wine master.
“We had a couple of other winery operations there for 15 years,” says Marlowe. “Our dream was to move to California and build another one.”
Check out the video above to see exactly how the wine is made here. From punching the cap down on the grapes to fermenting the wine for more than a year in French, American, or Hungarian oak barrels, each bottle is carefully crafted for members and nonmembers alike to enjoy.
Laguna Canyon Winery is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day except for Mondays. You do not need a reservation to stop by and enjoy some wine. On the first Friday of every month, there is live music. You can even join the wine club, which allows you to select your own wine.
For more information about this award-winning winery, visit LagunaCanyonWinery.com. I would like to thank Marlowe for his time today.
If you own a local business that you would like to be featured on the Stavros Snapshot, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me. I look forward to speaking with you!
